Tok Family
This family wanted to document their first home together. They also openly shared that their boy had autism and wanted this shoot to be familiar and fun for him. As a behavioural therapist I was honoured and excited to be able to work with this family, and that they sort of 'entrusted' me with this. I come across many families where photoshoots don't feel like a possibility - where compliance and following instructions like smiling maybe never happens. I really would love to encourage many families with children on the spectrum/or have special needs to just try it out. Ultimately, we can just document the child as he or she is at that time and developmental stage. We can think of activities that engages your child and what they enjoy. Photoshoots are not meant to take picture perfect moments, but real and relatable moments that are equally beautiful. :)
